01Do you really handle the HOA approval and permits?
Yes. We prepare the architectural submittal, drawings, and city permits in-house, then manage the inspections. You don’t chase paperwork or learn the 40-page packet yourself.
02Can you design and build the whole backyard, or just part of it?
Both. Most new-home clients hand us the entire yard so it’s one team and one schedule, but we’ll also take on a single phase like hardscape, a pool, or planting.
03How much does a new-home backyard cost?
Every lot, grade, and wish list is different, so we give you a real number after a free on-site consultation and 3D design. No published price would match your actual yard.
04When can you start, and how long does it take?
It depends on design scope and HOA review timelines. We give you a realistic schedule in writing before any work begins, so there are no moving goalposts.
05Are you licensed?
Yes. Five Stars Builders is a licensed California contractor, CSLB #1103138, verifiable directly through the Contractors State License Board at cslb.ca.gov.
06Do you work in Toll Brothers, Lennar, and DR Horton communities?
Yes. Most of our clients just closed on a home from a production builder such as Toll Brothers, Lennar, DR Horton, KB Home, or Tri Pointe, and every community association reviews backyards a little differently. We design to your association’s architectural standards and handle the submittal ourselves.
